Routine Maintenance in Utah
A complete $49 tune-up: full inspection, lubrication, adjustments, and safety testing that catches problems before they strand you.
Most garage door breakdowns are preventable.
Your garage door opens and closes an average of 3 to 4 times a day. That's over 1,000 cycles a year. Springs wear. Rollers dry out. Hardware loosens. Cables fray. None of it happens all at once — it happens gradually, quietly, until one day the door doesn't open and you're late for work. A professional tune-up catches all of it before it becomes a problem.
Every Freedom Garage Doors tune-up is $49 and includes our complete inspection plus a written Maintenance & Inspection Report rating the condition of every component, so you know exactly where your door stands.

- It has become louder or slower than it used to be

Why does annual maintenance matter?
Every part of a garage door system wears on its own schedule, and each one fails differently when it is left alone. Here is what we watch for at every tune-up.
- Springs
Lose tension gradually and strain the opener.
- Rollers
Dry out and wear, causing noise and binding.
- Cables
Fray over time — a safety risk when they snap.
- Hardware
Loosens from vibration, causing rattling and misalignment.
- Tracks
Get dirty and misaligned, causing binding and sticking.
- Opener
Safety settings drift over time.
What affects the price
- Number of doors serviced at the visit
- Door size, weight, and opener type
- Parts replaced during the inspection, if any
- Age and overall condition of the system
Routine Maintenance questions
- How much does a garage door tune-up cost?
- Our tune-up is $49 per visit and covers one garage door. If your home has more than one door, each additional door can be serviced at the same visit.
- How often should a garage door be serviced?
- Once a year for most homes. Doors used as the main entry, or cycled several times a day, benefit from service every six to nine months.
- What does a garage door tune-up include?
- A full inspection of springs, cables, drums, rollers, hinges, tracks, bearings, and hardware, plus lubrication, hardware tightening, a balance and alignment check, an opener safety test, and a weather seal inspection. You also get a written Maintenance & Inspection Report rating every component.
- How do I test my garage door balance?
- Pull the opener release, lift the door halfway by hand, and let go. A balanced door stays roughly in place. If it rises or drops on its own, the spring tension needs adjustment.
- Can maintenance make my door quieter?
- Usually. Tightening hardware, correcting track alignment, and lubricating rollers, hinges, and bearings removes most of the noise a well-built door develops over time.
